5 years of leadership and service; the story of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III

The Asante Kingdom has celebrated five years of leadership and service of Nanahemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III. The colourful durbar to climax the 5th anniversary celebration of the enstoolment of Nanahemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III was held at the Manhyia palace on Thursday 17th February 2022, and attended by Asantehene Otumfuo Isei Tutu II, the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the first lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the second lady Samira Bawumia, Ministers of State, members of the diplomatic corps, chiefs and the general public.

Born Nana Ama Konadu, Nanahemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, was born to Nana Afia  Kobi Serwaa Ampem II and Opanin Fofie.

Nanahemaa became the 14th queen mother of the Asante kingdom after she succeeded her mother Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II who died aged 109. 

She was enstooled in 2017 when she turned 83 years old and was later outdoored on Saturday 6th May 2017, by her younger brother, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II.
