President Joe Biden has named U.S-born Ghanaian neurosurgeon, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom as lead for the Cancer Moonshot project to constrain cancer deaths.
Dr Edjah Kweku Nduom, son of politician and businessman Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, was honored at the relaunch of the programme at the White House on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022.
Introduced by Dr. Nduom, the Cancer Moonshot initiative was launched by then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2016 and is aimed at enhancing the progress level against cancer.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom narrated how the relaunch of the project was the most exciting moment in the history of his field.
”Thank you Vice President, it is an honor being here with you and to follow the path paved by your mother and all the brilliant researchers that came before and whose shoulder we stand upon. To the First Lady thank you for your empathy and for truly understanding the pain and the promise that is – , I’m thrilled to be able to be here”, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom added in an acceptance speech.
